Hematological study of lameness in Karan frize cross bred dairy cows

This study investigates twenty cases of moderately lame to severe lame crossbred (Karan frizes) lactating cows in livestock research complex of National Dairy Research institute by screening two hundred fifty six lactating cows. Blood parameters were measured by standard hematological techniques in lame and healthy cows. There was a significant decrease in RBC (106/μl) and PCV (%) in the lame cows whereas there was significant increase in MCHC (pg/dl) in comparison to healthy cows. There was no significant effect on rest of blood parameters.
