Electrospun Eu2O3/Au/SnO2 ternary nanofibers with synergistically enhanced acetone sensing properties

2021
Abstract In this work, Eu2O3/Au/SnO2 ternary nanofibers were prepared via a synergetic approach including electrospinning and calcination. The sensor based on Eu2O3/Au/SnO2 nanofibers exhibited a remarkable response (~65) to 100 ppm acetone at a relatively low operating temperature (200 °C), furthermore, the fast response-recovery kinetics and selective acetone detection had been observed simultaneously. The enhancement of acetone sensing properties can be attributed to the construction of Eu2O3/SnO2 heterostructures and the chemical sensitization of Au nanocatalysts, suggesting a pathway to develop high-efficient acetone sensors for health security.
