High‐temperature resonance cell for laser spectroscopy on low vapor pressure elements

1984
A novel resonance cell system is described for laser spectroscopy on small samples of low vapor pressure elements. Temperatures of up to 1500 °C are reached with a cell made of sapphire allowing fluorescence and absorption spectroscopy in the spectral region 0.17 μm≤λ≤5 μm. The cell, with a small volume of 0.8 cm3, is designed for a fast sample change. The system has been applied to measurements of the isotope shift of radioactive Au isotopes.
