Two new highly-oxygenated flavonoid glycosides from Eupatorium adenophorum Spreng

Abstract Two new highly-oxygenated flavonoid glycosides, gossypetin-5- O -(6″-( E )-caffeoyl)- β -d-glucoside ( 1 ) and herbacetin-5- O -(6″-( E )-caffeoyl)- β - d -glucoside ( 2 ) were isolated from the leaves of Eupatorium adenophorum Spreng. Their structures were determined by spectroscopic methods including one- and two-dimensional NMR, and HR-ESI–MS. Compounds have potent DPPH radical scavenging activity with IC 50 12.0 μM ( 1 ) and 22.9 μM ( 2 ) (Vc as positive control, IC 50 59.0 μM) and inhibitory activity onproliferation of preadipocyte 3T3-L1 cells.
