DESIGN OF A SECONDARY-VERTEX TRIGGER SYSTEM FOR A HADRON COLLIDER

Abstract For the selection of beauty and charm events with high efficiency at the Tevatron, a secondary-vertex trigger system is under design. It would operate on forward-geometry events. The system would use on-line tracking of all tracks in the vertex detector, to identify events with clearly detached secondary vertices.
