Sensing Medical Device Contaminations via a Novel Integrated Fiber-Optic Infrared Spectroscopy Approach

2015
We demonstrate a novel integrated fiber-optic Fourier Transform Infrared (FO-FTIR) spectroscopy sensing approach for non-contact, rapid and chemical-free detection of pathogenic contamination on medical device surfaces. A proof-of-concept experimental sensing platform is validated through multivariable analytical studies.
