This article seeks to trace the conceptual link that is established in the whole work of Arthur Danto, a key author in the analytical consideration of the concept of representation, between cognitive asymmetries, representation theory and transfigured criterion of reality. This articulation gives us a model of particular predilection for cognitive asymmetries linked to the tragic structure that is limitative of the possibilities advanced by Danto on our ability to capture the openness and incompleteness of our apprehension of history.
