[CRESTAR - a modern method of oestrus induction and synchronisation in cows and heifers]

The article describes the use of CRESTAR as an efficient agent for timed insemination in cows and heifers without estrous detection. CRESTAR is used either as implant containing 3.5 mg of norgestomet or as injection with 3 mg norgestomet and 5 mg of estradiol valerate. CRESTAR was tested on 20,000 cows of different breeds and in different climatic conditions. An optimal scheme for its application has been worked out on the basis of the results obtained for each animal category.
