A negative staining technique for high resolution of viruses

The aim of this study is to discuss the possibility of using negative staining techniques on unsectioned material. During investigations concerned with the detailed structure of the protein components of bacteriophage, serious limitations were encountered using existing shadowcasting and sectioning techniques.
