The invention starts from an apparatus for the production of abrasive grains (12a) with a forming means (14a; 14b) having a plurality of cavities (16a), at least provided for receiving a dispersion in a molding process and, at least in at least one operating condition on one side (18a, 20a; 18b, 20b) are designed to be open, and with a closure means (22a; 22b), which is provided to one side (18a; 18b) of the cavities (16a) of the molding means (14a; 14b) to seal in at least one operating condition. It is proposed that the device has at least one attachment unit (24a; 24b) which is provided to the forming means (14a; 14b) and the closure means (22a; 22b) to be fixed in at least one operating state by a magnetic force to each other.
