Chylothorax Complicating Transbronchial Fine Needle Aspiration: A Case Report
2007
We present, for the first time to our knowledge, chylothorax after transbronchial fine needle aspiration in a patient with mediastinal lymphadenopathy secondary to tuberculosis. The patient recovered fully with conservative measures. We also discuss the possible mechanisms and conclude that chylothorax should be considered as a cause of pleural effusion after transbronchial fine needle aspiration.
