A nonwoven web comprising at least one region containing a plurality of loops, said strip being characterized nonwoven that: said loops are generally aligned to form a tuft tunnel-shaped; at least 10% of said loops having a ratio of length and loop circumference length to loop base is greater than 4: 1; said region containing loops has a looped web density, wherein said looped web density is less than the density of a web made of the same material and having the same basis weight but that does not contain loops; and, said band having a surface area, wherein at least 50% of said specific surface of said web contains loops.
