Post treatment of an additively manufactured composite consisting of 304L stainless steel and CoCrFeMnNi high-entropy alloy

2022
Abstract Laminated composite consisting of 304L stainless steel and CoCrFeMnNi high-entropy alloy (HEA) are prepared by additive manufacturing technology. Apparent element diffusion was activated during the additive manufacturing process, but no new phase was detected near the interface between 304L and HEA. The microstructure was modulated by post treatment of cold rolling and annealing process, achieving superior comprehensive mechanical properties. Deformation microstructures of the partially recrystallized samples after tensile test were characterized and the deformation mechanisms were explored.
