The invention discloses a DFT computing module and method based on an FPGA and relates to solution distance operation in a linear frequency modulation radar system. The DFT computing module comprises a phase computing module 1, a CORDIC module 2, a summation module 3 and a transmission buffering module 4. The phase computing module is used for computing a DFT conversion core phase, the CORDIC module is used for computing multiplying of a sampling point and a conversion core, the summation module is used for summation of the results of multiplying of the sampling point and the DFT conversion core, the transmission buffering module achieves conversion of clock frequency mainly through RAM, data which need frequency points are stored, and accordingly a clock is facilitated to subsequently read the data conveniently. Due to the fact that in practical use, the DFT frequency point number needed by linear frequency modulation radar is much smaller than a time domain point number, a time division multiplexing mode can be used for computing DFT results, and storage capacity is small. The DFT module is used for pulse compression processing of the linear frequency modulation system and has the advantages of being simple in structure, low in consumed resources, high in real-time performance and the like.
