Born cross sections for the excitation of the lowest resonance level of neon using elaborate CI wavefunctions

Born cross sections are calculated for the excitation of the 1P1(2p) 53s level of Ne by electron and proton impact using Hartree-Fock wavefunctions and two sets of different CI wavefunctions. The optical oscillator strength obtained with the largest CI wavefunctions is 0.149.
