Electron spin resonance of an hydrogen center in plastically deformed LiF coloured crystals

1970
Abstract On the E.S.R. spectrum of LiF successively γ-irradiated, plastically deformed and annealed, two lines appear on each side of F -center spectrum. Their characteristics correspond to those of atomic hydrogen: g =2.002 ± 0.0005, hyperfine interaction constant = 1420 MHz, T 1 ≅ 10 −4 − 10 −5 sec. These lines are inhomogeneously broadened (width ≅ 5G). This center is assumed to be atomic hydrogen trapped in cavities created by plastic deformation.
