Conformational studies of molecules partially oriented in the nematic phases: furan —2,5-dialdehyde

Abstract The NMR spectrum of furan-—2,5-dialdehyde partially oriented in the nematic phase has been obtained and interpreted. The values of direct dipolar couplings have been discussed in terms of a model which assumes a possibility of “mean” orientation parameters of the molecule in the liquid cyrstal phase.
