RESEARCH ON THE REGULATORY FUNCTION OF PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELING AMONG PATIENTS OF EMOTIONAL DISORDER AFTER MISSED ABORTION

2011
Objective To investigate patients of missed abortion and their emotional disorders and discuss the role of psychological counseling in reducing the problem. Methods Select 477 patients, from Nov,2010 to June,2011,who require to terminate pregnancies due to missed abortion, and randomly divide them into groups of A and B.Group A contains 253 cases from the counseling group, while group B holds 224 cases from the non-counseling one. Then measure the Self-Rating depression scale(SDS) and Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS) of the two groups of patients by handing out questionnaires. Results Among 477 patients suffered from missed abortion,268 developed depressive disorders, with the incident rate of 56.2%.Of them123 cases occurred within the counseling group(48.7%),145 in the non-counseling group(64.7%).By comparison, the two groups had significant difference(p0.05).Meanwhile,among the same group of 477 patients,180 of them had an anxiety disorder with the rate of 37.9%.71 cases occurred in the counseling group(28.1%),while 109 in the non-counseling group(48.7%),also showing a significant difference(p0.01).Considering the three scales of evaluating emotional disorders-mild,moderate,and severe, there hasn't been any apparent statistical difference between the patients with severe anxiety disorder from both groups(p0.05),while such differences exist in all other comparative groups(p0.05). Conclusion Patients who suffered from miss abortion had obvious emotional disorder.Providing treatment on bodily illness and offering proper psychological counseling simultaneously can ease the patients' emotional disorders of depression and anxiety.
