Inside the internal magnetic shield material for producing a magnetic shield for a color cathode ray tube installed inside, which include steel strips, having an organic resin coating film on at least one surface of the steel strip, and said resin consists essentially of C and H, or C, H, and O, or C, H, O and N, wherein the at least one surface of the steel strip having a surface roughness of 0.2 to 3μm of (Ra of the), the organic resin coating film having 0.1 6μm thickness (T). Preferably, T / Ra ratio is 0.2 to 4.0. The organic resin coating film contains wax particles dispersed therein, wherein the ratio of the average particle diameter of the wax ([Phi]) and a thickness (T) of (φ / T) is 0.5 to 5, and when viewed under an electron microscope , the wax content in the film of the coating film surface by the wax occupies 2% to 20%.
