Tecnología digital en ortodoncia lingual: sistema Harmony

espanolEn este articulo describimos la tecnica de laboratorio y de cementado indirecto en ortodoncia lingual desarrollada por P.C. Curiel, explicando en que consiste desde la toma de impresiones hasta el recementado de brackets. Analizaremos como se lleva a cabo el escaneado del modelo, set-up, tipos de arcos y brackets, cementado y recementado de las brackets. Se trata de una tecnica que permite utilizar brackets linguales de ranura horizontal, vertical, doble ranura o autoligado, muy versatil y adaptable a la filosofia de tratamiento de muchos ortodoncistas. Tras el salto tecnologico llevado a cabo por las tecnicas de D. Fillion (Eurapix) y D. Wiechmann (Incognito), esta va mas alla, ofreciendo nuevas opciones en el tratamiento con ortodoncia lingual. Comparamos la tecnica con algunas de las mas reputadas y utilizadas como son el sistema Hiro, Eurapix, Incognito, y con otras menos complejas como los sistemas en dos dimensiones (2D), sistemas de Jigs y cementado directo. Discutimos las ventajas e inconvenientes del sistema de autoligado en ortodoncia lingual. En definitiva, explicamos en que consiste el sistema de ortodoncia lingual Harmony. (Rev Esp Ortod. 2011;41(3):152-158) EnglishIn this paper we describe the lingual orthodontic laboratory and indirect bonding technique developed by P.C. Curiel, and we explain what it consists of from impression-taking to bracket rebonding. We analyse how the scan-model is carried out, as well as the set-up, different types of bows and brackets, bonding and rebonding. This is a technique that allows the use of horizontal slot brackets, vertical slot brackets, and double slot or self-ligating brackets; such technique is very versatile and adaptable to the treatment philosophy behind many orthodontists. After the technological advancement achieved by D. Fillion (Eurapix) and D. Wiechmann (Incognito), this technique goes one step beyond, offering new options on lingual orthodontic treatment. We compare the technique with some of the most trusted and used ones such as the Hiro, Eurapix and Incognito systems, and with other less complex ones such as the 2D systems, the Jigs systems and the direct bonding technique. We discuss the advantages and disadvantages of self-ligating lingual orthodontics. In short, we explain what the Harmony lingual orthodontics system consists of. (Rev Esp Ortod. 2011;41(3):152-158)
