Analysis on the Kernel and Lysine Content Characters of the Hybrids Between Common and Opaque-2 Inbred Lines of Maize
2005
Common and opaque-2(O2) inbred lines of maize were tested in a diallel design. The lysine content, yield, lysine yield, kernel weight, kernel density and water content of kernel in harvesting were analyzed. The crosses between common and O2 inbred lines were better than O2 hybrids in yield, kernel weight kernel density and water content in harvesting. The lysine content of common×O2 hybrids were lower than that of O2 hybrids but their lysine yields were very close. The results of the expriment indicated that: it was a way to breed maize hybrid with high lysine content by crossing common maize inbred lines with O2 inbred lines.
