Evaluación de la actividad antipolimerizante del 2,4-dihidroxibenzaldehído

2006
The formation of a base shiff aduct hemoglobin-aldehyde aromatic, it has been reported as inhibitor of the hemoglobin S polymerization. Using the Proton Magnetic Resonance methodology, it can be studied the polymerization kinetics and determine the delay time. Our studies in vitro demonstrate the inhibitor effect of the 2,4-dihydroxybenzaldehyde, using molars relationships (hemoglobin/compound) 1:1, 1:4 and 1:8. The td increment (expressed by percent) obtained for each one of the molars relationships was, 32 ± 9 % (1:1), 76 ± 17 % (1:4) . In the case of 1:8, the characteristic kinetics curve was not obtained. This result confirm the antisickling activity of this aromatic aldehyde, for a technique different to the reported in literature that also allows quantify the concentration effect. The same ones will facilitate the study of the therapeutic utility of this compound in the Sickle Cell Anemia treatment.
