espanolEste articulo analiza el problema de la defensa de las reputaciones masculinas y las definiciones de la masculinidad vigentes en Buenos Aires en el periodo tardocolonial, partiendo de los conflictos que se suscitaban por palabras, gestos o actitudes consideradas insultantes y ofensivas porque tendian a deshonrar, denigrar, degradar o humillar a los destinatarios. EnglishThis paper analyzes the problem of the defense of the male reputations and the current definitions of masculinity in Buenos Aires in the late colonial period, starting from the conflicts that arose from words, gestures, or attitudes considered insulting and offensive because they tended to dishonour, denigrate, degrade or humiliate the receivers.
