Therapeutische Versuche am Hamstermelanom

On the model of the transplantable hamster melanoma Mel 1, the effect of various therapeutic measures on survival time were studied. The following substances or methods were tested: depigmenting agents (pyrocatechol and derivatives), immunotropic procedures (cytostatics, cortisone, BCG, smallpox vaccine, levamisole) and the inoculation of irradiated melanoma cell suspensions prior to tumour implantation. Only suspensions treated with 7,200 R had a prolonging effect on survival time.
