TermolesiÓn percutánea transoval en la neuralgia del trigémino

Surgery, as a treatment of trigeminal neuralgia, is regarded as an alternative treatment when drug therapy instituted in a patient did not achieve acceptable results or when the drugs of first choice are contraindicated. The method presently used in our service (HMC 601), includes the transoval percutaneous trigeminal rhizotomy (TPTR), with advantages such as low morbility, almost null mortality and excellent results, which becomes it in the method of choice. The authors shortly describe the characteristic of this disease and the results obtained using TPTR by termolesion.
