Detect Fraud Bank Checks with a Simplified Image Multi-threshold Decision Processing Algorithm

This research is to design and build an image processing algorithm to quickly and easily detect a fraud or altered bank check in real time. A MATLAB Image Processing Toolbox is used to assist this study to quickly detect any fraud or altered bank check with the help of an ATM scanner when a fraud or altered check is deposited via an ATM. The testing and validation processes have been performed to confirm the effectiveness and correctness of this detecting algorithm. The current correct detecting rate is about 92.5% for checks deposited via ATMs.
