Uniazial pressing of spray-dried alumina agglomerates

The uniaxial compaction of spray-dried alumina containing 3 wt.% organic binders (PVA or PEG) is investigated by means of mercury porosimetry. The variation of intergranule porosity versus forming pressure is compared with the predictions of a model derived from powder metallurgy.
