La/Ag heterobimetallic cooperative catalysis: a catalytic asymmetric Conia-ene reaction.

A new catalyst system consisting of La(O-iPr)3 and AgO-Ac as hard and soft Lewis acids and an amide-based ligand ((S)-(I)) is used for the simultaneous activation of intramolecular 1,3-dicarbonyl and alkyne moieties to afford enantioenriched cyclopentane derivatives.
