Preservatives in the united Europe

The use of technical preservatives, also known as biocides, in waterbased adhesive systems is necessary in order to suppress microbial growth and thus protect the formulation against contamination. Like all other chemicals, biocides also are subject to numerous legal regulations and directives. The most important regulatory reforms affecting the countries in the European Union are addressed here, and the possible consequences for the future availability of substances are demonstrated.
