Determinação da melhor época para o plantio de quarto gramíneas forrageiras

1975
The effect of different planting times on growth of the four forage grasses; Pennisetum purpureum Schum (Elephant grass), Tripsacum laxum Nash (Guatemala grass), Hyparrhe nia rufa (Ness) Stapf (Jaragua grass) and Panicum maximum Jacq (Guinea grass) was investigated. Planting times were at fortnightly  intervals for a period which extended from early September to late February. For these grasses the best time of planting is from September to November, but some results indicate that planting at any other time can be sucessfull. Spring is always a good time for planting and results are unaffected when the heavy rains commence early or late.
