The invention provides a method for stabilizing a display picture of handheld equipment. The method comprises the steps that the position of the human eyes relative to the display picture of the handheld equipment is detected; whether the change value of the position of the human eyes relative to the display picture of the handheld equipment is larger than a preset value or not is judged; if yes, the position of the human eyes relative to the display picture of the handheld equipment is repeatedly detected; if the change value of the position of the human eyes relative to the display picture of the handheld equipment is smaller than the preset value, the display picture is compensated for according to the change value. The invention further provides a system for stabilizing the display picture of the handheld equipment. According to the method and system for stabilizing the display picture of the handheld equipment, due to the fact that the display picture is compensated for according to the change value, a user can watch the picture clearly even the handheld equipment shakes when watching the picture of the handheld equipment.
