Neutron irradiation damage of APD's using 252Cf

Abstract We report the results of exposing eight different avalanche photodiodes from two manufacturers to a fast neutron field produced by 252 Cf at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). The effects of this type of radiation on the intrinsic dark currents of the devices for fluences up to 10 13 neutrons/cm 2 are shown and discussed.
