Adaptation criterions of a photovoltaic generator to an inverter fed permanent magnet synchronous motor

1998
Water pumping in remote areas with a synchronous motor drive fed by a photovoltaic generator can be very efficient if the motor and pump parameters are well chosen. The study gives the limitations on the power transfer which can be imposed by a wrong choice of these parameters. It is also shown that the control of the inverter connecting the photovoltaic generator to the motor has an important influence both on the power transfer and on the simplicity and reliability of the power electronic structure.
