THE METABOLISM OF URANIUM233 IN MICE
1952
1. A study was made of the retention and distribution of U233 given intravenously to mice at dose levels of 0.05 and 0.005 µc./gm. Animals were sacrificed at intervals of from 30 minutes to 120 days and their body content and tissue concentrations of U233 were determined.
2. Analysis of the data indicates that at both dose levels 60 per cent of the injected dose is retained after 1 day and only 15 per cent remains after 120 days. The U233 is chiefly deposited in bone and kidneys.
3. A number of radioautographs are accompanied with a discussion of the cellular distribution of U233.
