Proton capture on 28Si and its astrophysical implications

1990
Abstract The reaction 28 Si(p, γ) 29 has been measured in the proton energy range of E p = 0.37–2.95 MeV. The strengths of the observed resonances have been determined and the spectroscopic factors for the ground state and first excited state in 29 P have been extracted from fits to the excitation functions. The stellar reaction rate has been calculated from the present results and is compared with previous values.
