Introduction : Metastasis of malignant tumors to oral cavity is rare. Distal area of mandible is acommon location for metastasis. In this paper, we report a case with metastatic adenocarcinoma tomandible, postpone in its diagnosis, and mismanagement. Also, we review the clinical andradiographic signs of the metastatic tumor in jaw bone. Watching clinical signs and symptoms, leads toquick diagnosis; and this means, increasing survival of patients. Case Report : The patient was a 48 year old woman. she had visited a dentist because of pain in distalarea of her mandible. In spite of endodontic treatment, pain had not resolved. Then, she came to ourclinic. Regarding past history of colon adenocarcinoma, and further clinical evaluation, it seemed thelesion may be a metastatic tumor. Biopsy, and evaluation by a pathologist, confirmed the diagnosis. Conclusion : Although metastasis to the jaw bone is rare, careful assessment of past medical historyand attention to clinical signs, like lip paresthesia, and radiographic findings can prevent unnecessarytreatment, increase survival, and reduce the problems of patients suffering oral metastasis.
