Structural chemical transformations of modified brown coal in pyrolysis and hydrogenation
1998
IR spectroscopy of diffuse reflection with Fourier transformation, EPR spectroscopy, and X-ray structural analysis were used to study the influence of treatment of brown coals with solutions of alkalies and acids on the composition and structure of the products formed in pyrolysis and hydrogenation. It is shown that acid and alkaline modification leads to the appearance of a new type of paramagnetic centers, to a change in the way of packing of the aromatic rings in the organic matter of the coal, and also to a change in the yield and supermolecular structure of the thermal destruction products.
