Design of Meander Dipole Antenna Structure for 5G Wireless Applications

2021
In this paper, a modified structure of dipole antenna is designed to work at GSMA Band of applications that is operable at 5G. The proposed structure helps in the reduction of size irrespective of the frequency of operation and these are also used to optimize the gain, bandwidth and radiation efficiency. Various structures of Meander elements like sinusoidal triangular and square are possible but among these shapes, square shaped structure is preferred and focused. The advantage of proposed shape out whelms the other shape which has been justified. The proposed structure is simulated using MATLAB that shows the bandwidth reduction of around 4 dB and gain loss of 0.002dBi is achieved. It is considered as a bi directional with circular polarization. As it has been designed to be operated at 26 GHz, it can be used beyond 5G applications that help in the tradeoff between users and the spectrum deficiency. Many countries have started using this frequency band for mobile applications and it is progress in other few countries.
