Pars plana vitrectomy in double perforation of the eyeball

1990
Authors have presented treatment results of severe eye injuries with double perforation of the anterior and posterior wall of the eyeball. A seven-year experience in the treatment of 13 patients has been presented. Pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) is a relatively new, radical, beneficial and efficacious surgical method in the treatment of double eyeball perforations. Its performance depends directly on the local status of the injured eye and optimal time of performance is within 48 hours after the injury.
