On a feasibility of a resonant stimulated Raman scattering gyroscope
2017
We report on the detailed feasibility study of a gyroscope based on stimulated Raman scattering (SRS). We present data of the proof of principle experiments involving single mode resonant SRS observed in packaged single mode WGM resonator characterized with extremely low Rayleigh scattering and corresponding small self-locking range. We discuss reciprocity as well as coherence properties of the Raman emission and present data validating the technique.
