In this paperasystematic methodofchoosing the frequency biasparameter andtheintegrator gain ofthesam¬ pled datasupplementary control ispresented byusing the discrete version oftheLyapunov technique. Thereheat effect ofthesteamturbines isconsidered inthestatespacemodel. Theeffect ofgovernor deadbandnonlinearity isconsidered by using thedescribing function approach andincluding the linearized equations inthestatespacemodel. Itisshownthat thegovernor dead-band nonlinearity hasadestabilizing effect onthetransient response withdeterministic andrandomload disturbances forpurely integral ACEcontrol.
