Development of transmission straight wire appliance and its clinical preliminary application

2011
Objective To introduce the research and development of the transmission straight wire appliance and technique, and its preliminary clinical applications. Methods Two types of appliances are classified which are typically used for ClassⅠ, ClassⅡdental deformities and ClassⅢ dental deformities. Each appliance includes canine brackets with lower friction and other brackets. The principles of the transmission correction technique are transmission force and transmission effect. Treatment procedures include two phases for non-extraction cases and three phases for extraction cases. Results The results indicate that more than fifty completed cases have resulted in satisfied or positive effects. Two typical cases are introduced. Conclusions The underlying conclusion is that the transmission straight wire appliance and technique are new, efficient and convenient. Key words: Transmission straight wire appliance;  Transmission straight wire technique;  Transmission effect;  Friction, Continuous light force
