Thermoelectric power anomalies induced by the lattice instability in doped Bi-2201 phase

Abstract The relationship between structure and transport properties in Bi 1.9 Pb 0.2 Sr 1.9−x La x CuO z (0.05≤×≤1.0) was examined by means of variable temperature x-ray diffraction and thermoelectric power. The experimental data show that the tetragonal-orthorhombic structure transformation occurs below 200K in the samples with x 〈0.5. The anomalies in the TEP was observed within the temperature region of the structure transformation.
