The invention provides a network switching optimization method and a system based on cognition of a mobile terminal movement mode. The method specifically comprises steps: through analyzing a historical movement track of the mobile terminal, a time-space model for the movement track is built, the historical movement track of the mobile terminal is divided into three reference movement modes in advance, and corresponding network switching realization optimization strategies are preset for the three reference movement modes; the current movement track of the mobile terminal is monitored in real time, the current movement track and the historical movement track are matched in time/space, and the current movement mode of the mobile terminal is cognize; and according to the cognition result for the current movement mode of the mobile terminal, a corresponding network switching realization optimization strategy for the reference movement mode is adopted. The method of the invention can further ensure continuity and fluency of communication in a mobile terminal switching process, and can be widely applied to a mobile communication system whose service quality is highly required by a mobile terminal user.
