The Impact of Age on Smoking Cessation

1995
In studying the literature on the impact of age on quitting smoking, the outcome can be equivocal. On the one hand, one would expect older people to have more difficulties giving up smoking because of the long period they have smoked and their lengthy dependency-history. However on the other hand, one would also expect older people to have more health concerns, and therefore be more motivated to stop smoking.
