Ocena gęstości mineralnej kości studentów w wieku 20-29 lat

The estimation of the bone mineral density in students in age of 20-29 years The goal of the study was to evaluate the results of the bone mineral density (BMD) measurements on a group of the students of the Academy of Physical Education (AWF) in Wroclaw, Poland. The examined groupof 423 students was composed of 298 women and 125 men, in age of 20-29 years. The BMD was measured in the region of the L2-L4 lumbar spine. In 68 students low BMD values were observed, possibly indicating osteopeny or osteoporosis. Moreover, it was observed that the mean BMD value in men is significantly higher (p=0,0004) than in women.
