Contact Analysis of Gear Strength Based on Finite Element Method

Based on computational theory of finite element method,contact analysis of gear strength is done by finite element software from two aspects of static and dynamic contact computational models.Compared with the results of experiential formulas,the conclusions are drawn:1)The method based on computational theory of finite element method is feasible,simulation data are reasonable;2)Dynamic contact computational model approaches nearer to realistic work conditions because the shock effect and friction are considered in gear drive;3)Static contact model can simulate quickly and accurately gear strength in steady operation conditions.Exact analyzing gear contact strength can help to improve dynamic performance of gear drive and to upgrade the level of design and manufacture of gear.
