Social and occupational mobility: measurement and inference.

This paper discusses some features of social and occupational mobility which can be represented by using Markovian and semi-Markovian models. It considers some useful measures of social and occupational mobility and studies large sample distributions of some of the estimated measures and related testing problems. (ANNOTATION)
