The method comprises the following steps of: acquiring a video service request of a user; acquiring segment relevant information of the video segments to be merged corresponding to the video service request according to the video service request; carrying out merging processing on the video segments according to the segment relevant information to obtain a merged video corresponding to the video segments; and providing the merged video to the user. According to the method and the device for merging the video segments, the segment relevant information of the corresponding video segments are obtained according to the video service request of the user, such as a video accessing request and a video merging request, and the video segments are subjected to merging processing to obtain the merged video according to the segment relevant information, so that the user can obtain the complete merged video instead of a plurality of video segments, the use experience of the network video service of the user is improved, and the user can perform other subsequent using and processing on the merged video.
