On Methionine Requierment Rate in Xuefeng Black-Bone Chickens

For local chickens especially Xuefeng black-bone chickens nutritional research pad blank,a total of 500 Xuefeng black-bone chickens(1 day-old)are used to investigate the methionine requirement. Meeting the other nutrients requirement other than methionine, the diets (meal-corn) supplemented with different level of methionine (0, 0.06%,0.12%,0.18%,0.24%) are assigned to feed the treetment birds. Mensurate performance traits,serum urea nitrogen,serum methionine,serum aspartic acid and serum glutamic acid are tested,which shows the diets supplemented with diffetent level of methionine have significant effect on accumulative growth,relative growth ratio,daily gain feed efficiency,serum urea nitrogen,serum methionine,serum aspartic acid and serum glutamic acid as well.Under ME: 12.32 MJ/kg and CP: 21.00%,it is suggested that optimum methionine level in Xuefeng black-bone chickens is 0.48% for 0～4 weeks birds. Under ME: 11.92 MJ/kg and CP: 19.40%,it is suggested that optimum methionine level in Xuefeng black-bone chickens is 0.42% for 5～8 weeks birds.
